Homemade Yoghurt For Healthy Kids Snacks
Homemade Yoghurt For Healthy Kids Snacks Recipe
Used for Little Mashies Reusable Food Pouches
1 quart whole organic milk
2 oz plain whole milk yoghurt with live and active yoghurt cultures
Step 1: Sterilize a quart jar by washing it, rinsing it and then pouring boiling water in it and allowing it to sit for three minutes. Carefully drain out the water (it will be very hot) and let the jar air-dry.
Step 2: Warm the milk in a saucepan until it reaches 180 F and then remove it from the heat.
Step 3: Allow the milk to cool to 110 F and then stir in the yoghurt.
Step 4: Pour the mixture into the sterilized jar, place the lid on and put it in a warm spot (not sunny) in the kitchen where it can remain undisturbed for 10 to 12 hours. The longer the yoghurt stands the more tart the yoghurt will be. You could use the oven with the pilot light on, or place it wrapped in a towel in a slow cooker, or just in a warm spot.
Step 5: Chill the yoghurt completely in the refrigerator for 3 hrs.
Step 6: Spoon into Little Mashies pouches for snacks on the run. Store them in the fridge until you need them.

I Just Love This Product
POSTED BY SHAE
I just love this product even though I don't have kids of my own! Bought this for my bestie and she is stoked! Along with the other mums who were at the baby shower! The ladies couldn't get enough! The suppliers were fantastic! I ordered on the Monday and received them on Thursday! Very punctual. Thanks again!
My Son Loves This
POSTED BY A CUSTOMER
My 3 year old sons interest in yoghurt was reducing until I started using little Mashies. Now he loves having a "monster" yogie and giggles that it has a little bottom on the back :-)
We Love These
POSTED BY JESS REINBOTT
We loved these, my son is new to the world of pouch foods, but these are great! I can put all my home cooking in there and send him to daycare with his little mashie and I know he will be getting his healthy delicious treat......and he can eat it all by himself!
Why is yoghurt a great baby food choice?
Yoghurt is a yummy and healthy first food for your baby. It is a product of bacterial fermentation of milk and has plenty of good bacteria, usefull for the digestive tract of babies. It is also rich in proteins and calcium, important for strong bones.
For Older Kids
For older kids you could try making this in an oven safe dish with a crumble on top... omg delicious! This porridge is also fine to serve and freeze inside Little Mashies squeeze containers.
