Fish And Vegetable Puree Recipe
Used for Little Mashies Reusable Food Pouches
8 oz white fish, poached, with bones and skin removed
2 oz sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 zucchini, diced
1 carrot, peeled and sliced
1 tomato diced
1 tsp parsley, chopped
Step 1: Steam sweet potato and carrot pieces until cooked through, about 15 minutes.
Step 2: Add zucchini and tomato and steam a further 5 minutes.
Step 3: Add the poached fish, vegetables and parsley to a food processor or blender and mix well on high. You can add breast milk, water or formula if a smoother consistency is desired. If your baby is older you can simply mash the ingredients together.
Step 4: If preparing baby food in bulk freeze the puree into ice-cube trays or straight into Little Mashies reusable food pouches.
Step 5: To heat food inside Little Mashies reusable pouches, simply run the pouch under a stream of warm water.
Little Mashies reusable food pouches reviews
POSTED BY MICOLE
Absolute peace of mind knowing that I control what goes in every pouch and my kids still love every mouthful! I was skeptical about how they are to clean and it took me a while to buy them BUT...they are just as easy to clean as you say they are!! Absolutely perfect product for a very food conscious mother. Love them and so do my 2.5 year old and 15 month old. Highly, highly recommend. Great service as well!
I loved Using These
POSTED BY A CUSTOMER
I bought these with my newborn in mind for when she starts solids, however, I have loved using them for the school/preschool-aged siblings, and they look forward to having yoghurt or custard or rice pudding in them. I'm looking forward to trying more recipes for the big kids. They clean and dry well, and the snap closure is great! - even the 4 year old can't open them.
Little Mashies Are Made For Mums
POSTED BY A CUSTOMER
I've tried a few different brands of these, but little mashies are made for mums. They're so so easy to clean! Easy to fill and have a great double seal. My toddler loves the design (especially during his problematic sensory stage where he would only eat if he couldn't see the food)..
Why is sweet potato a great baby food choice?
Sweet potatoes are a great first food for your baby. There are many cultures around the world who introduce vegetables to their babies before introducing fruits. Sweet potato is one of the more popular of these. Being rich in antioxidants, beta carotene, vitamin C and B complex vitamins, iron and phosphorus, sweet potatoes are a powerhouse of goodness.Compared to potato they are low GI, but their high level of stach makes sweet potatoes a high-calorie food, important for giving energy to your baby ecspecially if they aren't eating as much as you would like.
For Older Kids
For older kids you could try making this in an oven safe dish with a crumble on top... omg delicious! This porridge is also fine to serve and freeze inside Little Mashies squeeze containers.
